FUNERAL SERVICES
FOR MRS. CARSON

Passed Away At Local
Hospital; Was 89
Years Old

Funeral services for Martha Jane Carson, 89, were held at the Woodburn Methodist church Monday afternoon, conducted by Rev. F. C. McCallon, pastor of the Osceola Church of Christ. Interment was made at Ottawa, services in charge of Webster Funeral Home.

Mrs. Carson passed away at a local hospital Sunday morning, May 14.

The deceased, the eldest daughter of Reverend J. D. and Nancy Clark was born February 26, 1850 in Jackson county, Ohio.

September 3, 1874 she was united in marriage to J. S. Carson, who passed to his reward August 21, 1932. To this union three sons were born, C. M. of Woodburn; L. E. of Osceola and O. A. of Derby. All were at her bedside when the Lord said it is finished, come up higher.

She came to Iowa in the year 1865.

She united with the Ottawa U. B. church in 1889 and ever afterward held fast to her faith in God. She helped financially in the construction of the Ottawa church that for many years administered to the spiritual needs of that community.

She leaves to mourn their loss the three sons above mentioned, five grandchildren, six great grandchildren, one brother Chas Clark of Woodburn; also two nephews and a niece, Walter and Will Arnett and Mrs. Lafayette Benbow of Lorimer.
