Margaret Elizabeth Carson 95, died at Osceola Leisure Manor Friday, October 18. Services were held Monday, October 21 from the Kale Funeral Home in Osceola with the Rev. Clifford Haider officiating at the 11 a. m. rites. Interment was in Ottawa Cemetery, Clarke County, Iowa.

Margaret Elizabeth Carson was born October 1, 1890 in Liberty Township, Clarke County, Iowa, daughter of Clement H. Porterfield and Mary Leah Marquis Porterfield. She attended schools in Clarke County and on February 21, 1912, was married to Frank Carson in Woodburn. Six children were born to this union.

She was a housewife and a member of the Bethel Christian Union Church in Liberty Township.

Survivors include a daughter, Edith Thornton and husband, Russell of Osceola; daughter, Corda Canney of Osceola; daughter, Bernice Page of Osceola; son, Harold Carson and wife, Wilma of Murray; son, Donald Carson and wife, Frances of Weldon; seven grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren; one sister, Opal James of Lucas; and sister-in-law, Ruby Porterfield of Humeston.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Frank on March 20, 1980; one daughter in infancy; one granddaughter, one sister, Anna Porterfield; one brother, Merritt Porterfield; and two sons-in-law, Donald Canney and John Page.
