Elbert Carson, youngest child of Ephraim and Sarah Carson was born near Woodburn, Iowa May 20, 1893 and passed away at Iowa City hospital, Oct. 17, 1945, age 52 years, 4 months and 27 days.

He grew to manhood on the farm where he was born. His entire life was spent on the farm, farming with his father until his father's death, and later operating a farm for himself. On Jan. 20, 1929 he was united in marriage to Mildred Davis. No children were born to this union.

Besides his wife, he leaves to mourn his death five brothers and one sister: Schuyler, of San Francisco, California; Jeff, Des Moines; Fred and Perry, Osceola; Frank and Mrs. Almeda Heston of Woodburn; a number of other relatives and many friends.

His father, mother, two sisters-in-law preceded him in death.

Living near the Ottawa church, he attended church and Sunday school when a boy, and he was ready and willing to help in time of need.

His passing will be deeply mourned by his loved ones.

Services were held from the Webster Funeral Home, Saturday, October 20, at 2:00 p. m. Minister, Wilbur Filson, Iowa City, Ia.
