Mr. Wm. Sutton was born in Dayton, Ohio, in the year 1839; was married to Martha Johnson at the age of twenty-one in Green county, Ohio. There was born to them nine children, all of which survive him, together with his bereaved wife. He enlisted in the army in '61 and served fourteen months when he was disabled and came home. He moved to LaSalle county, Illinois in '67 and came to Osceola, Iowa in '85 where he has lived until his death. The funeral services were held at the Christian church Sunday at 2 p.m., Rev. Utz delivering the sermon. A large crowd of friends were present. After the services the remains were interred in the Osceola cemetery.
