OLIN STANLEY WOODS

Olin Stanley Woods, son of Olin Wayne Woods and Gretta Leeps Woods, was born June 23, 1932 in Clarke County, (and died) at his home on August 1, 1990. He was 58.

He received his education at a rural school called Redwing and later graduated from Woodburn High School. At a young age, he was baptized and became a member of the Woodburn Christian Church. He served his country overseas during the Korean War for two years.

On June 11, 1954, he married Loretta Webb and to this union three children were born, Lisa, Laura and Steve.

Stanley remarried on April 4, 1964 to Betty Cobb and they resided on the family farm near Woodburn. He was a farmer and also worked for Seed and Grain at New Virginia.

Stanley was very devoted to his family and was always ready to help those in time of need.

He leaves to mourn his passing; wife Betty of Woodburn, daughters Lisa Parson of Osceola, and Laura Muselman and her husband, Gary, of Woodburn, her son, Steve Woods of Woodburn, three step-children, Connie Broughton and her husband, Robert of Melcher-Dallas, Harold Cobb and his wife, Teresa, of Chariton, Gary Cobb and his wife, Lori of Osceola, four grandchildren, Justin and Joshua Parsons and Jessica and Amy Muselman, three step-grandchildren, Wesley, Brandon and Julia Cobb as well as a host of other relatives and friends.

Stanley was preceded in death by his parents and an uncle, Harley "Sac" Woods with whom he made his home for several years.

Services were held Friday, August 3, 1990 at 1:30 p.m. at the Kale Funeral home in Osceola. The Rev. Densmore Peterson of Des Moines officiating. Burial was in the Woodburn Cemetery at Woodburn.
