Mrs. G. W. Wallace,

whose maiden name was Elizabeth Johnson, was born September 20, 1828, and died June 22, 1906, aged seventy-seven years, nine months and two days.

In 1849 she was married to Mr. G. W. Wallace. In 1851 they moved from Pennsylvania to Iowa and lived in Clarke county thirty three years. To this union were born eight children--four boys and four girls. One died in infancy. The other seven live to mourn her death and all but one were present at her bed side when she died. At the age of eighteen Mrs. Wallace was converted and joined the Baptist church. Later she united with the M. E. church with her husband and was a good faithful member of the same until her death. The deceased will ever be remembered as a loving wife, kind mother, good neighbor and consistent Christian.
