--Died, at his home in Washington township, September 3d, 1886, John F. Field, aged eighty-two years, eight months and four days. He was born in Bedford county, Virginia, came to Indiana in an early day, and there was married to Miss Mary Smith of Putnam county. In 1848 he came with his family to Iowa, was was one of the first settlers in Clarke county. He was respected by all that knew him. He leaves an aged companion and five children.
