Thomas Frederick Saddoris, the son of Enoch and Diana Saddoris, was born on a farm in Clarke county, on March 19, 1887, and died at his home in Osceola, on October 17 1952, at the age of 65 years, 6 months and 28 days.

Fred was married in 1908 to Emma Marks of Murray. They started housekeeping on a farm near Murray, moving to Osceola in 1910. To this union were born two daughters, Gladys who passed away in infancy and Vivian, who survives him.

Fred was engaged in the poultry business for a number of years, also managing an oil station and produce station for some time.

He joined the Methodist church soon after moving to Osceola, and attended while health permitted. He had been ill for many years and at times suffered intensely from asthma and its effects.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Frank and Ben. Surviving are his widow, one daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Dell Hutchings; two brothers, Leonard and Charles of Osceola; one sister, Mrs. John Beresford of Davenport; several nieces and nephews, and other more distant relatives.

Last rites for T. Fred Saddoris, lifelong resident of Clarke county, were held at the Webster Funeral Home Monday afternoon, with Rev. Lester Hall of the Methodist church officiating. Burial was in Maple Hill cemetery.

Out-of-town relatives attending were his sister, Mrs. John Beresford and husband and cousin, Mrs. Raymond McGee of Davenport; cousins, Mr. and Mrs. Lafe Benbow of Afton; nephew, Richard Saddoris and wife of Lorimor; sister-in-law, Mrs. Mary Cummings, Monmouth, Ill.; and brother-in-law, Harry Marks with his wife and daughters, Patricia and Elaine, of Humeston.
