Frederick James Vawn, son of Catherine and Frederick James Vawn, was born July 13, 1856 in Juniata County, Pa. He died March 16 at the age of 74 years, 8 months and 3 days.
He came to Clarke county with his lifelong companion 33 years age, where he has resided on the same farm, two miles north of Osceola, until the time of his death which occurred at 9:30 P. M. Immediate cause of death was bronchial pneumonia following influenza. He was united in marriage to Mary Ellen Flynn of Galesburg, Ill., April 11, 1896.
Six children were born to this union, all of whom are survivors with their mother. The children are Frederick James, Mrs. Katherine Megrew, Walter, Mary and Henry, all of Osceola and vicinity; and Mrs. Helen Stegall, of Galesburg, Ill.

Two brothers are also survivors. They are Samuel A. of Dresser Junction, Wis., and Isaac of Perulack, Pa. One sister Mrs. Hanna Richardson resides at McCoysvllle, Pa., and one grandson, Frederick Stegall resides at Galesburg, Ill.

Funeral services were held from the Webster Funeral Home, Thursday at 2:30 P. M. conducted by Rev. Claude R. Cook and interment made in the Greenwood cemetery.
