Russell Harley Critz was born February 3,1907 in Clarke County son of Charles Edward Critz and Susanna Merle Perdue Critz. He attended school in Clarke County and married Mable Brand on July 27, 1927 in the Methodist Parsonage, Osceola. He was a lifetime resident of Clarke County, retiring after a life of farming.
Russell was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Osceola.

Surviving relatives include his wife, Mabel of Osceola; son, Bernard Critz and wife, Glendoris of Ft. Dodge; daughter, Beulah Adair and husband Max of Osceola; daughter, Doris West "and husband, Glenn of Lexington, Tennessee; son, Donald Critz and wife, Phyllis of Sterling, Virginia, son, Darrell Critz and wife, Patricia of Jacksonville, Florida; 17 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; two sisters, Dorothy Garlow of Bricelyn, Minnesota and Mary Brand of Austin, Minnesota; and one brother, Lowell Critz of Indianola. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Chris Critz

Russell Harley Critz, 79, of 401 North Main in Osceola, died Thursday, June 12, 1986 at his place of residence. Services were held Saturday, June 14 at the Kale Funeral Home in Osceola with the Pastor Robert Mumm officiating the 1:30 p.m. rites. Interment was held in the Maple Hill Cemetery, Osceola.
