OBITUARIES
JAMES A. McKnight

James Andrew McKnight, son of James and Rosanna McKnight was born in the state of Pennsylvania on February 28, 1855, and departed this life on October 27, 1942, at Clarinda, Iowa, aged 87 years, 7 months, and 29 days.

On November 28, 1884, he was united in marriage to Irona Judkins, who preceded him in death on November 17, 1937. To this union were born five children who are left to mourn their loss: Rufus L. of Lacona, Ivan C. of Osceola; Mrs. Roy Bassett of Estherville; Mrs. Lloyd Wilkenson of Martinez, California, and Murl F. of Liberty.

Nearly all of McKnight's life has been given to Farming. At an early age, he was converted to the Christian faith and was a member of the Liberty Methodist church at the time of his death.

For several years he has had failing health, but everything that loving hands could do was done for his comfort. He was a good husband and father, a kind neighbor and friend, and he will be missed greatly by all who knew him.

In addition to the children mentioned above Mr. McKnight leaves to mourn their loss one brother, Wesley of Liberty, and two sisters, Jane Beal of Osceola and Hannah Young of Des Moines; also 17 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren, besides a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held in the Liberty Methodist church on Thursday afternoon, October 29, 1942, the Rev. W. W. Watson, pastor of the New Virginia Methodist church officiating. Interment was made in the Liberty cemetery.
