August 2, 1894 , page 8

Elsie, wife of Chas. Howe. died in Osceola, at ten minutes to 7 A.M., July 28, 1894. She has been declining in health for more than a year, and, indeed has been an invalid for much longer than that. She was prepared, and ready to go.

Miss Elsie Cutter was born in Enfield, Massachusetts, in August, 1813. was married to Charles Howe, June, 1840, and to them were born three children, two dying in infancy, and one, George, formerly in Osceola, who died in New Orleans a few years ago. She came here twenty-nine years ago, and it has been her home ever since. She was brought up a Congregationalist and always adhered to that belief.

She made a circle of friends here who knew her to be a lady of true worth and excellent qualities. Her husband, speaking of their ministrations said: - "Money never can pay for the kindness of my neighbors and friends during the illness and death of my wife. All I can say is God bless them."

A short service was conducted by Rev. H. Beeman, at the home, at 8 P.M.. Saturday, and then her remains were taken to the train and sent to Enfield for burial beside the children she lost so many years ago. The funeral was expected to be held Tuesday.
