Isaac Wade died June 16th at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Elijah Hart. He has had a long decline in health, since he met with the accident of falling in a well two years ago.

He was a native of Kentucky. His age we do not know exactly, but he was probably about seventy-five years old. He came with his family to Iowa, and settled near Burlington in 1849. In 1856 he came to Clarke county and bought a farm in Green Bay township where he lived until late years with his wife Eleanor where they reared nine children.

He was a stalwart, kind hearted old citizen much respected among the people, and must be remembered as one who helped to make the county what it is.
