William W. Conner

Was born in Jackson county, Ohio, November 27, 1838, moved to Iowa in 1878. He was married to Miss Sarah Barnes December 8, 1879. He was converted and joined the M. E. church at the age of twenty and lived a consistent member of the same until his death. He and his wife came to Weldon in February 1882, and during these twenty-two years, they gained and retained the respect of the people.

Two brothers who live near Ravenn Mo. and a sister who lives in Lineville, Iowa, survive him. The sister, Mrs. Maggie Galpin was present at the funeral.

Mr. Conner was always cheerful and pleasant in his business and social relationship in life and a Christian gentleman. The funeral services were held Tuesday, February 23 at 1 p.m. at the M. E. church in Weldon, in charge of Rev. G. E. Mitchell. All businessmen were in attendance. Interment at Hebron cemetery. The bereaved have the sympathy of the community.
