George Norman Williams, son of James Dean Williams and Esther Louella McKibben Williams was born August 7, 1937 in Garden Grove, Iowa and passed from this life Thursday, October 5, 2017 at Clarke County Hospital in Osceola, Iowa at 80 years of age.

George graduated from Garden Grove High School. George served in the U.S. Army from 1956 to 1959, following his honorable discharge, He was united in marriage to Karen Sue Fenton on August 14, 1959 at Des Moines, IA. This union was blessed with two children, Rick and Donna.

Following his service in the Army George began working at John Deere in Des Moines, 30 years later he retired. George and Karen have lived in Woodburn for the past 48 years.

George was a hard working family man. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, mushroom hunting, wood working, camping, socializing over coffee and family get togethers.

Those relatives who preceded George in death were his parents, James and Esther Williams, and his sister, Ellen Faye.

George leaves to cherish his memory; wife, Karen Sue Williams of Woodburn, IA, son, Rick (Michelle) Williams of Murray, IA, daughter, Donna (Charles) Bland of Woodburn, IA, grandchildren, Kylie (Jess), J. D., Jesse (Michelle), Melanie (Gene), Shelbi (Eric), 7 great grandchildren, sister, Waunita (Jerry) D'Attilio of Derby, IA as well as other relatives and many friends.
