- Died at her home near Liberty, on the 9th of February at noon, Mrs. Sarah A. Smith, wife of J. G. Smith. The deceased was born December 1st, 1823, at Marathon, Cortland county, N. Y., and was married to J. G. Smith March 2nd, 1845, at the same place. She was a member of the Baptist church and has been for a large number of years. She was a good Christian, and lived up to a Christian career. She was the mother of five children, of which three with her husband survive her, to sojourn and miss her who was so good and kind to them, to counsel and advise. Her neighbors will miss her, as she was a good neighbor to everybody. She was buried at the chapel. The funeral services were conducted by J. P. Halloway.
