Moses Davidson was born August 10, 1840, in Keokuk county, Iowa and departed this life March 8, 1923, at his home in Liberty township, Clarke county, Iowa, age 78 years, 6 months and 26 days. He was united in marriage to Martha J. Duncan, January 17, 1867, to this union was born six children, all are living, as follows: Austin, of Milo; Archie and Charlie, at home; Tip, of near New Virginia; Elmer, of Carlisle; Allen, of Jay. He has twenty grandchildren; three brothers and one sister, namely James of Strann, of Kansas; William of near Sandyville; Robert of Pleasantville, and Mrs. William Young, of Beach. He was converted and joined the Christian Union church thirty-five years ago and was at the time of his death a member of the church at Bethel Chapel. He has been a faithful member and a follower of the Cross. He was a good neighbor kind father and a loving companion, was loved by all who knew him. He has been in failing health for the past eight years having had three strokes of paralysis and has suffered continually for the past two years, during which time, he has bore his suffering patiently, was loving and kind and welcomed all who came to see him with a kind word. He leaves besides his family a host of loved ones, neighbors and friends to mourn his departure. If we follow in his footsteps we shall see him face to face. Short funeral services were conducted at the home on Friday at 11:00 a.m., after which the remains were tenderly laid to rest in Bethel cemetery. To his devoted companion who is in very poor health, and to their children and grandchildren the sincere sympathy of this community is extended. The family extend many thanks to the kind neighbors and friends who so kindly assisted them in their sad bereavement.
