Dies in Calif.

Edith Roxena Halvorsen, 97, of Napa, California, died at her home Wednesday, January 26, 1977. Graveside services were held Monday, January 31, at Ottawa Cemetery in Clarke County at 10 a. m.

Edith Roxena Halvorsen was born March 31, 1879 in Woodburn, Iowa, daughter of Jacob Shively and Hattie Gibson Shively. She attended schools in Osceola and attended and graduated from the Union College in Nebraska.

She moved to Stockton, California in 1924, and taught schools in the Seventh Day Adventist Church School. In 1927 she moved to Angwin, California, where she was an instructor in the Pacific Union College Elementary School for four years. Following retirement she moved to Deer Park where she lived in retirement until her death.

She affiliated with Seventh Day Adventist Church.

Survivors include a son, Dr. Ralph S. Halvorsen and wife, Geraldine of Napa, California; and two nephews.
