Mrs. Susan Shively died, April 27th, at the home where she was living with her son John. She had been ailing during the winter but was considered in about her usual health. On the day of her death her son was absent from the house a short time, and on his return found her lying on the floor by a chair from which she had evidently fallen dead. She was seventy-nine years old last November and long as her life had been had filled it with good works and thereby made for herself many warm friends. She had been the mother of seven children, five of whom are living; two of them in Kansas and one in Nebraska; the others in this county. Her funeral occurred Saturday, her neighbors gathering at the house and listening to some scripture reading and remarks by C. W. Neal. She was an Adventist, and lived up to the profession she had made.
