Mamie Lowe Black
Mamie Lowe Black, daughter of Alonzo H. and Helen Lowe, was born in the vicinity of Woodburn, Iowa, on December 3rd, 1886. She died in a local hospital Saturday evening, January 9, 1937.

Mrs. Black grew to womanhood near Woodburn, graduating from the Woodburn High School. She was united, in marriage to Earl Black on January 20, 1907. Mr. and Mrs. Black resided in Woodburn until 1927 when they moved to Osceola and entered the restaurant business.

Mrs. Black was preceded in death by her mother, also by a sister Nellie and a brother Carl Lowe. Surviving Mrs. Black in addition to her husband are 3 children , Corda, Mrs. Paul Crist of Woodburn, Wayne of Osceola, and Milton of Davenport. Also surviving are her father, A. H. Lowe and step-mother, Lizzie Lowe of Guilford, Ind., and 3 sisters, Mrs. Roscoe Preston , Mrs. Margaret Evans and Mrs. Cad Koble, all of Osceola.

Mrs. Black was a member of the Christian church in Woodburn which church she united with in early girlhood.

Funeral services were held from the Webster Funeral Home, Tuesday, January 12, conducted by Rev. Forest Richardson of Spencer and assisted by Rev. F. C. McCallon of the Osceola Christian church. Interment was made in the Woodburn cemetery.
