Pearl James ‘Pug’ Page, 72, of rural Osceola, died at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines Tuesday. December 3, services were held from the Kale Funeral Home in Osceola Friday, December 6 with the Rev Cliff Haider officiating at the 1:30 pm rites. Interment was in Maple Hill Cemetery.

Pearl James ‘Pug’Page was born May 11, 1913 in Lucas County, Iowa, son of George Page and Letha Cooper Page. He attended schools in Clarke County and on November 9, 1933 was married to Maxine McVey in Chariton. Two children were born to this union.

He was a farmer/trucker in Clarke County and was well known in the community. He was a member of the Clarke County Sheriff’s Posse and the Osceola Saddle Club.

Survivors include his wife, Maxine of Osceola; daughter, Evelyn Kent and husband, Charles of Osceola; five grandchildren, Gregory Kent and wife, Jean, Garcia Lange and husband, Bruce, Jay Kent, Patricia Audlehelm and husband, Rick and Jack Page; nine great grandchildren; three brothers, Earl Page of Osceola, Harold Page of Des Moines and Arlie Page of Lewiston, Idaho; and two sisters, Juanita Stahlman of Golden, Colorado and Betty McWilliams of Osceola.

He was preceded in deatah by his parents; one son, Bob, one brother, Glen; and one sister Edna Sanders.
