Mrs. H.C. Fowler died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. John Key at Mountain Grove, Mo., September 12th aged seventy-four years. The body was brought to Osceola and funeral services held at the home of another daughter Mrs. Al Lash, September 15th, in the presences of a large assembly of friends of the family. Rev. Dawson of the M.E. church had charge of the services after which interment took place in the Osceola cemetery.

Mrs. Fowler was born in Cross Creek Village, Pa., April 4, 1830. Her parents moved to Middleton, Ohio, during her childhood and August 26, 1848, she was married to H.C. Fowler. They came to Clarke county in 1856 and have made this county their home ever since, excepting a short residence in Missouri. In company with her husband she went to the home of their daughter, Mrs. Key, in Missouri eight months ago, but the climate failed to benefit her.

Mrs. Fowler was first a member of the Presbyterian church in Ohio, but in this county was a long time member of the M.E. church. In her active life she identified herself busily in the social life of our city, attending the sick and giving a helping word in distress whenever opportunity offered. She was greatly loved and esteemed by all who knew her. One of the good mothers of our city has gone to her reward. An aged and heart-broken husband and three daughters, Mrs. John Key, of Missouri, Mrs. Harper, of Terrill, Teas, and Mrs. Al Lash of Osceola are bereaved. The children and husband were all present at the funeral.
