OBITUARY ~ JESSIE F. SMITH

Jessie F. (BOOTH) SMITH, daughter of Frank and Emma BOOTH, was born Sept. 18, 1898 on a farm east of Hopeville, Iowa in Clarke couty. Jessie departed from life at Ellston, Iowa on Nov. 11, 1988 at the age of 90 years, one month and 23 days.

She married Aaron C. SMITH in January, 1916 in Creston, iowa.

Jessie raised a family in Hopeville, Iowa, then after the death of her husband moved to Murray and later to Ellston.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, three brothes, her husband, Aaron SMITH, and one son, Earl SMITH.

She is survived by one son, Paul J. SMITH and wife Judy of Des Moines, Iowa; one sisters, Sylvia SMITH of Leon, Iowa; four grandchildren, Rex SMITH of Des Moines, Shannon BINGEMAN of Des Moines, Gwen SMITH of Des Moines and Rodney SMITH of Las Vegas, Nevada; and three great-grandchildren, Katherine SMITH and Adam BARMORE of Des Moines and Rodney SMITH, Jr. of Las Vegas.

Funeral services were held November 14, 1988 from the United Methodist church at Ellston, Iowa, conducted by Rev. Jack KENDALL. Music was provided by Mrs. Leo MORGAN and Maurice JONES.

Casketbearers were Gene BULLOCK, Doug BULLOCK, Kevin CREVELING, Ronald CREVELING, Daughn REASONER and Duane REASONER. Burial was in Hopeville Cemetery at Hopeville, Iowa.
