Flora McCarl, 88, Afton
Flora Violet McCarl, 88, of Afton, died of cancer Jan. 7, 1999, at Fairview Housing there. Services were held Jan. 9 at Kale Funeral Home in Osceola, with burial in Lacelle Cemetery in Clarke County.

Mrs. McCarl had lived in Clarke County all her life before moving to Afton last year. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include five daughters, Norma Jean Black of Prescott, Virginia Hargis of Mitchellville, Patricia Cook and Edna Hamilton, both of Murray, and Georgia Spangler of Des Moines; two sons, Donald of Afton and Mitchell of Roland; 42 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.
