Ross Wendell Goodrich

Ross Wendell Goodrich, son of Jesse M. and Elsie May Monical Goodrich was born June 12, 1914 in Washington Township of Clarke County, Iowa and passed from this life October 29, 2006 at his home in Rural Clarke County at ninety-two years of age.

Ross received his education the rural schools of Clarke County. He was united in marriage to Laura Ellen Myers on December 7, 1935 at Indianola, Iowa. They were the parents of three children, Larry, Gary and Linda.

Ross and Laura spent their early years farming in Clarke, Lucas and Union counties. In later years, Ross worked for American Plating Company in Des Moines and also at the Clarke County Hospital in Osceola.

An avid outdoorsman, Ross enjoyed fishing, hunting and trapping. He also enjoyed working on machinery of any type and was always willing to help friends and neighbors when the need arose. He also enjoyed carpentry and playing the fiddle, banjo and harmonica.

Those relatives who preceded Ross in death were his parents; his infant son, Gary Everett Goodrich; Sisters, Inez Clarke and Margaret Leonard and Brother, Carl Goodrich.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Laura of rural Osceola; son, Larry Goodrich and his wife Carolyn of rural Osceola; daughter, Linda Masters and her husband Lanny of Deming, NM; Grandchildren, Marty Goodrich and wife Cindy of Des Moines; Darrell Goodrich and wife Shelly of Indianola; Lance Masters and wife Cassie of Chariton; Lisa Thrane and husband Gregg of Wichita, KS; and Lindsey Masters of New Mexico; Great Grandchildren, Missy Goodrich of Des Moines; Austin and Allison Goodrich of Indianola; Phillip Ross and Jacob Masters of Chariton; Brothers, Vern Goodrich of Omaha, NE; Paul Goodrich of Osceola and Everett Goodrich of Chariton; sisters, Hazel Leonard and husband Harold of Chariton; Annabelle Ross of Lake Jackson, TX as well as many nieces, nephews other relatives and a host of friends.
