“Robert Westfall Dies at Iowa City”

“Yorktown (Special) Robert Westfall, one of Yorktown’s oldest citizens, passed to his reward Sunday evening at the hospital in Iowa City, according to the sad word to relatives here Monday morning. ‘Uncle Bob’, as he was affectionately called by friends as well as relatives had not been well for several weeks. His nephews, Geo. Mitchell and Herman Handorf of Coin had both gone Saturday on word that he was failing.

Funeral services are being held Tuesday in the old home at Weldon, Iowa. Mr. Westfall had passed his 88th birthday. He was a brother of Mrs. C. W. Mitchell of Yorktown, who has been at the George Mitchell home recently in Coin. Yorktown friends extend sympathy to the family.”

Robert A. Westfall was born on November 12, 1848 in Scipio Twp., Meigs county, Ohio and departed this life on June 29, 1936 in Iowa city, Johnson County, Iowa.
