“Services for Mrs. George Hall Held From M.E. Church In Weldon, Monday P.M.”

“Services for Mrs. George Hall of Weldon were held Monday afternoon by Rev. Myrtle Wolfe-Cox and interment was made in Green Bay cemetery. Mrs. Hall passed away last Saturday. She was born in Clarke county near Weldon in 1863, and lived her entire life in that vicinity.

Hannah Flora Keeran, daughter of Thomas and Margaret Keeran, was born near Weldon in Clarke county, Iowa, November 14, 1863, and passed away at a hospital in Osceola, April 2, 1938, at the age of 74 years, 4 months and 19 days. She grew to womanhood on the farm where she was born, receiving her education in the country school in that district, afterward teaching school for a number of years until her marriage to George William Hall on April 11, 1896.

Immediately after their marriage they started housekeeping, and her entire married life was spent on their little farm adjoining Weldon. She lived a beautiful life that was well worthy of emulation. She loved her family her home, her relatives and her friends. She was a great lover of music and flowers, possessed a cheerful disposition and looked on the bright side of life. A devoted wife, a kind neighbor and a loyal friend, a kind hearted, lovable, noble woman has gone to her reward. She leaves to mourn their loss, her husband, two sisters and three brothers, Joseph of Des Moines, Andrew of Leon, Theodore of Red Oak, Sarah Landis of Weldon and Mary Hidy of Humeston. Four brothers and two sisters preceded her in death. She also leaves several nephews and nieces and a host of friends.

The funeral service was held in the Methodist church in Weldon, Monday afternoon, April 4, 1938 at 2 o’clock, conducted by Rev. Myrtle Wolfe Cox. Interment at Green Bay cemetery. Miller & Son of Osceola in charge.”
