“Robert L. Westfall, son of William and Minnie Grimes Westfall was born December 18, 1885 and passed away at the Clarke county public hospital on May 1, 1964 at the age of 78 years.

He was educated in the Clarke county schools.

On March 10, 1909, he was married to Mary Abercrombie at Weldon, Iowa. To this marriage two children were born. He spent his entire life in Clarke county. He was a member of the First Methodist church.

He is survived by his wife Mary, two sons; Harold E. of Osceola, Iowa and Mansel of Woodburn, Iowa; two daughters-in-law: Alice and Mildred; eight grandchildren, six great grandchildren, a brother Claude of Des Moines, Iowa, and a sister, Elma Wallace of Burbank, Calif.; nieces, nephews and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Edgar and a sister Wilma. He was a friendly man, a good neighbor, and had a great many friends. He was devoted to his family, and took a special interest in his children and grandchildren. He will be missed by all who knew him.

The funeral services was held at the Webster Funeral Home, Monday, May 4, 1964. The Rev. George C. Pennington of the First Methodist Church officiated. Burial in the Maple Hill Cemetery, at Osceola, Iowa.”
