“Mary Wallace Rites Monday”

“Funeral services were held Monday, October 27 for Mary Ellen Price Wallace, of West Park Care Center, West Des Moines. Rev. Richard Eis conducted the 10:00 a.m. service from the Webster-Kale funeral Home in Osceola. Mrs. Wallace died Friday, October 24.

Mary Ellen Wallace, 98, was born in Douglas County, Illinois, January 16, 1882 the daughter of Adam and Ruth Bateman Price. She received her education in the Clarke County Schools and on February 22, 1921, was united in marriage to Edgar H. Wallace in Osceola. They were the parents of two children.

She is survived by one daughter, Lorene Mazziotti and husband, Joe of Des Moines; one grandson and three great grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her husband; one daughter, Evelyn Ruth; four sisters and eight brothers.

Interment was in Mapel Hill Cemetery, Osceola.”
