“Diana Wade Dies in Arizona”

“Services for Diana Wade, 98, of Sun city, Arizona, who died Saturday, January 7, 1989 at Peoria, Arizona, were held Tuesday, January 10 at the United Methodist Church in Weldon. Pastor Leroy Perkins officiated, with interment in the Hebron Cemetery, Clarke County.

Mrs. Wade was born July 10, 1890 in Decatur County, the daughter of Alvin Metier and Fannie Barrett Metier. She married James I. Wade in June of 1922. She lived in Weldon until 12 years ago. She was member of the Kozy Club, P.E.O. and the Order of the Eastern Star at Weldon. She was a member of the Weldon United Methodist Church.
She is survived by daughter, Mary McCann and husband Dr. John McCann of Sun City, Arizona, brother, Sam Metier of Leon; eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband in 1941, daughter, Harriett, 1963 and four brothers.”
