MARY LOUISE HORTON
Mary Louise Horton, daughter of William Lloyd Banker and Blanche Pauline DeLong Banker, was born Nov. 4, 1916, in Clarke County and died Oct. 10, 1998, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center. She was 81.

Mrs. Horton attended country schools south of Murray. She married Wade Oliver Horton on Feb. 27, 1935, in Creston and they became the parents of three children.

A lifelong resident of Clarke County, Mrs. Horton had been a domestics clerk at Robinson's Department Store in Osceola for 33 years and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Osceola.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Harold and Roy Banker; an aunt and uncle, Edith and Wilber McGee and her grandparents.

Mrs. Horton is survived by her husband, Wade Horton of Osceola; two sons, Jim Horton and his wife, Rosalee Horton, of Murray and Fred Horton and his wife, Fern Horton, of Osceola; a daughter, Mary Kruse and her husband, Don Kruse, of Osceola; a sister, Martha Rowland of Osceola; six grandchildren, Julie Ann Horton, Sue Ellen Hart and her husband, Rick Hart, Brian James Horton and his wife, Belinda James, Marty Horton and his wife, Loryda Horton, all of Osceola, Terrie Davenport and her husband, Mike Davenport, of Truro and Stacey Horton and his wife, Kim Horton, of Brooklyn Park, Minn; four stepgrandchildren, Stephanie and Melinda Gorball of Osceola, and Jennifer Adams and Wayne Horton of Langley, Okla.; 23 great-grandchildren; other relatives and a host of friends.

Services were Oct. 14 at Kale Funeral Home in Osceola, the Rev. Bill Kerns of Chariton officiating. Organist Pennie Gonseth accompanied Emil Rinderspacher as he sang In The Garden and Just A Closer Walk With Thee.

Casket bearers were Stacey Horton, Brian Horton, Phillip Riemenschneider, Marty Horton, Jeff Riemenschneider and Mike Davenport. Honorary bearers were Tim Jackson and Rick Hart.

Interment was in Maple Hill Cemetery.
