Viola Brown
Viola May Brown, daughter of Otto White and Mary Minerva Clark White, was born Sept. 27, 1920, and died Aug. 14, 2003, at the Clarke County Hospital in Osceola. She was 82.

She was educated in the Leslie country school in Clarke County. She married Charles David Brown on June 1, 1941, at Bethany Mo. They became the parents of five children.

She spent her entire life in Clarke County and worked at a nursing home in Osceola and also did various household cleaning work in the area.

Mrs. Brown enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, flower and vegetable gardening, making crafts, traveling and wintering in McAllen, Texas for the past 15 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a son, Darrell David Brown; two grandsons, Darin and Jeff Brown, six brothers, Albert, Ernest, Raymond, Clifford, Elmer and Milford White.

Mrs. Brown is survived by her two sons, Larry Brown and his wife, Sandy Brown of Afton; Francis Brown and his wife, Janice Brown, of Osceola; two daughters, Twyla Smith and Patricia Jones, both of Osceola. 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Donald White and his wife, Nida White, of Des Moines and Jerald White and his wife, Jeannie White, of Norwalk; as well as other relatives and a host of friends.

Funeral services for Mrs. Brown were Aug. 19 at Kale Funeral Home in Osceola, Pastor Rod Rindahl of Osceola officiating.

Casket bearers were Marty Oehlert, Ron White, Jim Tracy, Dennis White, Steve White and Mike Blanchard. Interment was in Maple Hill Cemetery at Osceola.
