Helen Bernice Cornelison Reynolds 1916-2007

Helen Berniece Cornelison Reynolds, daughter of Gertie and Walter Cornelison, was born March 30, 1916 in Clarke County. She passed away October 24, 2007 at Clarke County Hospitalin Osceola, Iowa. She was 91.
Helen attended Rocky Dale country school and graduated from Osceola High School. She received her Normal Training Certificate and taught two terms at Washington No, 9 country school. She was baptized in 1931 at the Methodist Church in Osceola. She was reaffirmed in 1954 at the Presbyterian Church in Osceola.
Helen married Frank Reynolds on Feb. 22, 1936, They drove over ther fence tops for their wedding at the Methodist/Protestant parsonage in Osceola. They celebrated 66 years of marriage. Three children were born to this union, Larry Keith, Darrell Dean, and Linda Ann. They lived on their fgarm in Ward Township for sixty years.
Helen's greatest joy was working in her beautiful iris nbeda. She was a wonderful cook, making chocolate Rice Krispie treats for the grandkids on Halloween. She especially enjoyed her grandchildren, great-grandchildfren and seeing her great-great grand son for the first time recently,.
Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Frank; brother Waldo "Bud" Cornelison, and her parents, Walter and Gertie Cornelison.
Those left to cheris her memory are her sons, Larry Reynolds and wife Virginia of Weldon, Darrell Reynolds and wife Linda of Osceola;Linda Reynolds of Osceola; grandchildren, Penny Reynolds of Perry;Sue Cumpton and husband Brian of Garden City, Mo.; Tanya Desmond and husband Joe of Norwalk; Faith Bowlsby and husband Jerry, of Hospers; and Heidi Burris and husband Shawn of Osceola; Great grandchildren; Kelsey and Courtney Cumpton, Kylar, Rylan. and Kate Desmond; Justin Jared and hailey,, Josh and Jeremy Bowlsby and Johi Burris; great-great-grandson Jamison Bowlsby; sister, Vi North of Osceola; and sister-in-law- Ruth Cornelison of Bettendorf..
Funeral services were held Oc. 27. 2007, at Kale Funeral Home in Osceola with pastor Marshal Nessa, Hospice Chaplain, officiating.
Organist Virginia Reynolds accompanied vocalist Mellony Jamison singing "One Day At A Time" and "Amazing Grace".
Casket bearers were Jerkry Bowlsby, Brian Cumpton, Joe Desmond, Shawn Burris, Justin Bowlsby and Jared Bowlsby. Her Great-Grandchildren were honorary casket bearers.
Interment was in Maple Hill Cemetery in Osceola.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Central Iowa, Mt. Ayr.
