Perry Edwards Services Held

Perry R. Edwards, 87, of Osceola, died at the Clarke County Hospital Friday. He was a retired farmer and had lived in the Murray community for many years before moving to Osceola.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Murray United Methodist Church. Rev. M. Stanley Ballard officiated. Burial was in Maple Hill Cemetery. Watts-Soll Funeral Home was in charge of the services.

Perry Robert Edwards was born January 30, 1884, in Green County, Indiana. He was the son of Anderson and Mary Evelyn Bodine Edwards. He grew up in Indiana and was married there, June 28, 1910, to Flossie Busch.

He moved to the Murray community in 1915 and had farmed until a few years ago.

He is survived by his widow; four daughter; Mrs. Wilda Groth of Springfield, Missouri, Mrs. Mary Jane Boge of Dubuque, Mrs. Jean Winter of Murray and Mrs. Helen Lawrence of Holstein; three sons, Floyd Edwards of Osceola, E. Marret Edwards of Truro and Earl Edwards of Moline, Illinois; 23 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and five brothers.

Mr. Edwards was a member of the Murray United Methodist Church and the Murray Masonic Lodge.
