Mrs. Emily Bennor died at her farm home, five miles north of Nashua, at 8 a. m. May 30, 1935. She was born in Grant County, Wisconsin, in 1848. She was the daughter of Harrison and Elizabeth Merritt. She was married at the age of 18 to Griffin L. Bennor. To this union were born ten children: Henry of Nashua; William of Cass County, Minn.; Mrs. A. H. Adam of Waterloo; Belton of Republic; J. E. Bennor of Bruce, Wis.; Mrs. Edward Greene of Ionia; Merton of Hinkley, Minn.; Dan of Gillette, Wyo. and C. L. Bennor of Grove City, Ohio. Her husband, Griffin L. Bennor preceded her in death thirty years ago and a son, Griffin Jr., in 1900, at the age of nine years. She leaves thirty-six direct descendents, nine children, twenty-five grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Surviving also is a sister, Mrs. Angelina Drowellard.
Mrs. Bennor was one of the pioneers of Iowa, coming to the state in a covered wagon with her own team in Oct. 1870, settling on a farm near New Hampton. She came to her present home near Nashua in 1880, where she had since resided. She joined the baptist church in early womanhood.

Funeral services were held at the Little Brown Church at 2 p. m. Sunday, Rev. Wm. Kent officiating. Burial was made in the family lot in Greenwood cemetery.

Nashua, Ia. — Mrs. Emily Bennor, 87, died Thursday at her farm home near here where she had resided 50 years, as result of spinal injuries suffered in a tumble Monday from a second story window. She was born in Grant county Wisconsin, coming to Iowa 64 years ago. Her husband died 35 years ago. She is survived by two daughters and seven sons: Mrs. Gus Adams, Waterloo; Mrs. Ed Green, Chickasaw, Ia.; Henry, Nashua; Clarence, Philadelphia, Pa.; Dan, Gillette, Wyo.; Belton, Republic, Ia.; Merton and Will, Minnesota, and Ed, Grouse, Wis.Waterloo Daily Courier -- Waterloo, Iowa

Woman, 87, Jumps from Second Story Window; No Bones BrokenMrs. Emily Bennor, who lives at the home of her son, Henry Bennor, jumped from a second story window Monday, but in some miraculous way escaped receiving any broken bones in the fall. Mrs. Bennor is 87 years old. It is feared that although no bones were broken, that she may have been seriously injured by the bump, as she was in a weakened condition Tuesday.
