The original records are probably in the Chickasaw County Courthouse, New Hampton, Iowa. Usually in the 1870's in rural Iowa, citizenship papers were filed in the nearest courthouse. However, keep in mind that in the 1800's and early 1900s, married men obtained citizenship for their wives and minor children [who were not listed] in their own papers. Also prior to 1906, usually no mention is made of original birthplace, other than renouncing the King of whatever country from which they were born and usually no exact dates or substantial genealogical facts are listed.

Also, these naturalization records may also be viewed in any Mormon Family History Branch Library not accessible online other than in a local branch near you. The Chickasaw County First papers from 1861-1906 and the Second papers volumes 1-2 1858-1886 will be digitized on Family History Library Film #1027440.
