My great grandfather was James Stanton who I believe was John Stanton's brother. James was born in Washington county Wisconsin, in 1848, whereupon they moved to Chickasaw county. I have no info on any of the New York side of things and would be greatful if you passed on any you might have.
James had five daughters; Mame [married Doc Feeney and was the first woman to run for the Iowa Senate in 1922] Josephine, Elizabeth ["Banty"], Gertrude, and my grandmothe Anna. He died of appendicitis in 1901. He married Anna Galligan, who passed away in 1940.
