RUTHERFORD HILL DIES AT CHARLES CITY

Rutherford B.Hill, son of Delbert and Marcia Hill, was born at Nashua, Iowa, on February 25, 1892, and passed away at his home in Charles City on Monday, November 15, at the age of 56 years, 8 months and 20 days.

He grew to manhood in the vicinity of his birth, and on June 1, 1926, he was united in marriage to Miss Mae Rhoades of Bradley South Dakota, who survives.

Most of his adult life had been spent working at the Oliver Plant, until three years ago when he became manager of the Standard Oil Station on Grand Avenue. He was an active member of the First Methodist Church and the K. P. Lodge.

He leaves to mourn his sudden passing, his wife, Mae; one brother, Orlando of Charles City; two sisters; Mrs. Harry Fitzgerald of Charles City; and Mrs. Oliver Kramer of Clinton; two half-sisters; Mrs. Ralph Kellogg and Mrs. Charles Nixt, both of Charles City.

In the obit above it lists his parents as Delbert and Marcia Hill. His parents’ names were actually Oscar Adelbert Hill and Marcelia (Lines) Hill.

His father died in 1893 and his mother remarried to William Clark Wiltse.

He was buried in the Riverside Cemetery, Charles City, Floyd Co., Iowa
