Albert Zipsie, 76, passed away at his home on East Jefferson Street Sunday, January 17, after as indefinite illness.

Mr. Zipsie as born March 16, 1866 in Stevenson County Illinois, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Christian Zipsie. In 1900 he came to Iowa and located on a farm near Lawler where he lived until the spring of 1928, at which time he came to New Hampton where he has since resided.

In 1889 he was united in marriage to Margaret Heiselman of near McConnells, Illinois. To this union were born four sons and one daughter. The sons who survive besides the wife are: Arthur of Fredericksburg, Lloyd of Lawyer, Edward and Myron of this city. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Martha, (Mrs. Henry Weidler).

Others to mourn his passing are twelve grandchildren, two of whom are serving in the armed forces, Floyd A. Zipsie and Virgil V. Weidler and LeRoy Zipsie who is working in a defense plant in California, besides other relatives and friends.

Services had been planned to be held at 2:30 Tuesday from the Congregational church, of which he had been a life long member, but due to the inclemency of the weather the rites were conducted from the Perry Funeral Parlors, Rev. Francis Snyder officiating. "Lead Kindly Light" and "Going Down the Valley" were sung by Mrs. Francis Snyder and Mrs. Howard Schwartz, accompanied by Mrs. William Wilkins.

The casket bearers were David Vetter, Louis Katz, William Holz, William Kammeyer, Harry Cutsforth and Norman Gager. Internment was in Graceland cemetery.

With Mr. Zipsie's passing, Chickasaw County has lost one more of its pioneers and esteemed citizens.

To the bereaved family we extend sympathy.
