Mrs. Peter Boellerschen died at her home in the Second ward of New Hampton at 18 minutes past 11 o’clock Monday night, May 14, 1906. She had been ill for eight days with asthma and heart trouble and had not been in very good health for a number of years.

Mary Ana Durking was born at Munster, Westphalia, January 20, 1833, and was 73 years, 3 months and 24 days old. At the age of 29 she came to America and in 1864 was married at New Vienna, near Dubuque, to Mr. Peter Boellerschen. In 1865 they came to North Washington, where Mr. Boellerschen conducted a merchandise business. They also lived at Devon, where he was in business, and about six days ago came to make their home in New Hampton. She was of devout religious nature and in her last years received great comfort and joy for being so near to her church.

She was the mother of six children, one son dying in infancy. Those who survive her are Joseph Boellerschen, residing just north of New Hampton; Mrs. John Zimmer of New Hampton; Mrs. Mike Zimmer of Armour, S.D.; Mrs. J. F. Wagner of New Hampton and Mrs. John Neubel of Parkston, South Dakota. These with her life companion and her sisters, Mrs. W. Eischeid of Devon, Mrs. Weightkamp and Mrs. Heyding of Chicago, mourn the passing away of one who was dear to them in the deepest sense of tenderness and love.

The death of this kind, noble woman has caused real sorrow in many hearts. She was known by a great number of our people, and only words of love and praise are heard for her. To their children she leaves the memory of a life well spent, and her teachings and loving kindness to them in all times will be treasured in their hearts so long as they shall live.
