The Deadly Shot Gun.
Charles City Intelligencer— James Shannon, aged 27 and single, whose home was at Brooklyn near Nashua, was killed last Friday at the home of Mr. Milligan, in Riverton township, four miles west of Nashua, by the accidental discharge of a gun, He had been rabbit hunting and had just returned. He laid his gun down on the roof of a low chicken house, from where it slipped and in falling was discharged. The charge struck the man in the right side, killing him almost instantly. He did not speak after receiving the charge from the gun except the single exclamation “ Oh ! ” The charge did not pass through the body.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows he is buried in Oak Hill Cemetery and was born Sept. 9, 1875 and died Dec. 5, 1902.
