Explosion Causes Death.
New Hampton, Iowa, March 10.—Edward G. Porter, formerly of this city, but latterly superintendent and general manager of the electric lighting and heating plant of the city of Owatonna, Minn., was so badly burned by a gasoline explosion yesterday that he died last night. His father, William B Porter, and his mother and sister, all of whom reside here, started for the scene of the accident at 5 o’clock yesterday evening, but the son and brother was dead before they reached Owatonna.
