OBITUARY.

Nettie (Crooks) Kepler was born in Dayton township, Chickasaw county, Iowa, Nov. 28th, 1865 and died at her home two miles south of New Hampton, Thursday morning, May 9, 1901.

She was married to Hugh Daniel Kepler, Nov. 14, 1885. She was the mother of seven children, two of whom died in infancy; five children remain to mourn the loss of a dear loving mother, the youngest being a babe of only one year of age. She also leaves two sisters and three brothers, a father and a disconsolate husband to grieve over the early departure of one so dear to ail.

Mrs. Kepler loved her home and was a faithful loving mother and wife but her vacant chair leaves an aching void that no one else can fill. Some years ago Mrs. Kepler indicated a desire to live a Christian life but put off coming out and taking a decided stand for Christ. About two weeks before her death she sent for the pastor of the M. E. church who went out to see her and found her anxious to be numbered with the people of God and as she desired it arrangements were made for a service in their home end Mrs. Kepler and the whole family were baptized and received into the church much to her satisfaction.

The funeral services were held Sunday at 2:30 p. m. at the M. E. church, a very large congregation being present, not near all being able to get into the church, thus testifying to the high esteem in which Mrs. Kepler was held in the community in which she has lived since childhood. Surely the entire community sympathize with the bereaved husband and the motherless children. May the angels of God watch over and comfort them.
