OBITUARY
DIED At the home of his daughter in Bemedji [sic], Minn., Monday, Sept. 9, 1901, William H. Stone, of heart disease, aged 63 years.
Deceased was born in Vermont and came to this county about 35 years ago and purchased a farm near Alta Vista where he resided until two years ago.
He began to fail in health about two years ago when he sold his home and with his Wife went to California thinking the change would benefit him.
He was unusually well until about three weeks ago when he wished to visit his daughter in Minnesota. The cold climate proved too much of a change and his old malady returned and it was soon discovered that death was near. His wife, daughter and son, Louis W. Stone, and son-in-law, Walter Cady, were with him when he died.
William Stone was one at the solid honest and upright men of this community. The world can ill afford to lose such men as he and he was held in high esteem by all who knew him. During his life time he accumulated enough of this world's goods to leave his widow and family in comfortable circumstances and in his death they lose a good husband and father. He is survived by a wife and seven children.
The widow and children accompanied the remains to Nashua and on Sept. 13 where interment took place at Greenwood Cemetery.
