A marked copy of the LaCrosse Republican and Leader sent us announces the death of A. D. Kinne, who is well our older to many of our older readers as once a resident of Ionia. His death occured at Rockford, Ill., recently and was the result of a fall be received several
weeks before. The following we clip from the Rep.-Leader.

Almon D. Kinne was born in Cataragus county, N. Y., in 1822 and came to Avon, Wis., in 1839. Moved to Rockford, Ill,, and went into the grocery and crockery business in the early fifties and was one of the early members of the First Methodist church on Second street, where the Centennial church now stands and was also a member of the choir for a number of years. He was married at Bradford, la., Oct. 4, 1860 and went into the hardware business soon after. In 1871 he went into business at Ionia, Ia , and was the first postmaster and station agent there. For the last twenty years of active life, he has served as postal clerk and is well and favorably known throughout Iowa, Minnesota and a portion of Wisconsin. He was always a great temperance worker, having organized the first Good Templar lodges throughout Iowa. He was a Mason of high degree and in his younger days an active worker. His many deeds of mercy and love have endeared him to all who knew him and his motto was "Let not the right hand know, what thy left hand doeth."
