Kieren—At her home in this city Wednesday, March 20 1901 occurred the death of Teresa, wife of A T. Kieren, aged 36 years, of consumption. Teresa Bergemiller was born at Blue River, Wis., January 17, 1865. When a young girl she came with the family of A. t. Kieren to New Hampton and was a member of their household. She was united in marriage with A. T. Kieren, December 22, 1886. The ceremony was performed in Minneapolis, where the young couple resided for five years, when they came to this city, hopeful for the future, and where they have since made their home.

She had been ill nearly three years and although the angel of death has shadowed the home for some weeks, the stroke was none the less cruel as she who was taken was surrounded by all the love and comfort this world can give.

Although her illness was long and at times painful, she bore it with great patience and bravely and hopefully tried to regain her strength that she might fulfill her obligations in the rearing of her children. But at eleven o'clock Wednesday night, fortified by the rites of her religion and surrounded by her loved ones, she fell asleep.

Her friends speak of her as a true Christian woman with noble traits of character, one whose pleasures were at home with her family. She was tireless in her efforts to administer to the sick and needy. Her sympathetic face, and encouraging words can never be obliterated from the memory of her friends.

She is survived by her husband and two children, Leo aged 6 and Emma aged 3 years. Her mother, Mrs. K. Bergemiller of Muscoda, Wis., was here during her last illness and at her death. The funeral was held from St. Mary's Catholic church, Saturday morning at nine o'clock, Father Forkenbrock celebrating requiem high mass, which was attended by a large number of sorrowing friends who had come to pay a tribute of respect to one who in life they had learned to love. The remains were interred in the German Catholic cemetery.

The many friends of Mr. Kieren and family extend heartfelt sympathy and hope that they may be consoled by the thought that their loved one was fitted it ever mortal was for the glories of the beyond, Those in attendance at the funeral from out of town were Mrs. John Miller, of Boscobel, Wis , cousin of the Kierens, Mr. and Mrs. A. Kieran, Mr. and Mrs. E. E. Miller, Joe and Oscar Kieren of Elma.
