Aurelia Blazek Died Friday A.M. Of Embolism
Funeral Monday At Lawler; Former
Rural Teacher

Miss Aurelia Blazek, 50, of Lawler died at 11:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 17, enroute to St. Joseph's hospital by ambulance. Death was attributed to an embolism (blood clot). She had been ill for two weeks with thrombophlebitis of the leg. She had been hospitalized from December 8th to the 15th and was apparently recovering satisfactorily when she suffered the relapse Friday morning.

The body was taken to Larkin's Chapel at Lawler, where rosary was recited Sunday afternoon. Funeral services were held at 9:30 a.m. Monday in the Mt. Carmel church at Lawler with the Rev. James F. Delay officiating. Burial was in the parish cemetery with six cousins as pall bearers, Clarence Bouska, Ed Boluska, Daniel Bouska, Ed Klimesh, Charles Pecinovsky and Frank Novotny.

Aurelia Blazek, daughter of Mrs. Mary Blazek and the late Anton Blazek was born Dec. 23, 1903 on a farm north of Lawler where she resided her lifetime, She attended the rural schools, graduated from the New Hampton High School in 1924 and attended ISTC in Cedar Falls. She taught in the Chickasaw, Winneshiek and Howard county schools about ten yearS, Miss Blazek was a member of he Mt. Carmel church at Lawler, the American Legion Auxiliary and the Catholic Daughters of America.

Surviving are her mother, Mrs. Mary Blazek of Lawler, two sisters, Mrs. Joop Aafjes of New Orleans, Louisiana and Miss Mary Blazek of Lawler and seven brothers, James, Anton Blazek Jr., John, Adolph, Edward, Louis and Clarence C. all of Lawler, She was preceded in death by her father.
