LUELLA E. BRAHAM, 95, of New Hampton, died Saturday August 18, 2001 after a brief illness, at Mercy Medical Center in New Hampton.

Funeral services will be 10:30 Tuesday August 21 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Reverend Carl Schmitt presiding. Sister Lorraine Loecher will be organist and accompany the St. Joseph Resurrection Choir and cantor Joyce Shatek. Hymn selections will include: “Be Not Afraid”, “On Eagles Wings” and “Amazing Grace”. Donald and Kathleen Braham will present the Offertory gifts and Richard TeKippe will be lector.

Interment will be Calvary Cemetery, New Hampton with Linus Bodensteiner, Al Riley, Arnie Tierney, Joe Leibold, Lee Miller, George Knutson, Richard Rosonke and Richard TeKippe serving as casketbearers.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 pm Monday at Conway Funeral Home in New Hampton where there will be a 4:30 combined Catholic Daughters and Rosary Society rosary and a 6:30 pm scripture service.

Visitation will also be at the church an hour before service time.

Luella Estella Braham was born July 11, 1906 at New Hampton, the daughter of Frank and Estella (Ennessy) Wentz. After graduating from New Hampton High School, she was employed at Olmstead and Gardner Drug Store until her marriage to George Braham on June 27, 1938 at St. Joseph’s Rectory in New Hampton.

She was a member of St. Joseph Church, St. Joseph Rosary Society and was a member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas Joan of Arc Council 388 since 1927.

Luella is survived by 1 son Donald and his wife Kathleen of Virginia Beach, VA, a grandson Steven Braham and his wife Tracey of Virginia Beach, a granddaughter Christine Nance and her husband Russell of New York City, a great granddaughter Sydney Braham of Virginia Beach.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband George February 6, 2000, a daughter Marilu Braham, and 3 brothers Orval, Raymond and Merle Wentz.
