Services Held for Marie Wilcox

Services were held,Tuesday, April 4 in LeRoy Lutheran Church for Marie Wilcox, 80, who died Friday, March 31, 2000 at St. Mary's Hospital, Rochester, following a lengthy illness.

The Rev. Thomas Kolden officiated at the 1:30 p.m. services. Interment was in the LeRoy Cemetery.

She was born July 31, 1919 in Alta Vista, Iowa, daughter of Ber-Alta Vista and was later united in marriage to Carl Wilcox Nov. 9, 1938 in Elma, Iowa. To this union, 10 children were born.

She was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking, baking and preparing for visits from her children and grandchildren.

Survivors include her sons, Robert (Lillian) of Alta Vista; Dale, Clear Lake, Iowa; Leon (Robin), Brownsdale; Russell, LeRoy and Tom (Lisa) LeRoy; three daughters, June (Larry "Joe") Gansen, Hampton, Iowa; Janet (Gerald) Haagenson, Mabel, Minn, and Linda (Tom) Walker, Lake City; 12 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Also a sister, Loretta Powell, Mason City.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Carl; a son, George; an infant daughter, granddaughter, and several brothers and sisters.

Hindt-Hutchins Funeral Home, LeRoy, was in charge of arrangements.
