GARNER - Harry F. McAloon, 73, Garner and formerly from New Hampton, died Thursday, April 6 at his home.

Funeral services were held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 15 at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Gamer, with Rev. John Hemann officiating.

Visitation was one hour prior to services at the church. Major Erickson Funeral Home, Mason City, was in charge of arrangements.

Harry F. McAloon was born April 13, 1926 in New Hampton, the son of Robert and Elsa (Ribbeck) McAloon. He graduated from New Hampton High School. Harry served in the Army Air Corps during World War II and afterwards attended the University of Iowa. On Aug. 3, 1953, Harry married Theresa Haus in Des Moines. During his career, Harry was employed by the City of Des Moines, Chickasaw County and the U.S. Parks Service. He was later employed by the County of San Diego as a county planner. Following his retirement in 1969, Harry spent a number of years with Hal's Ramblers. He was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church, Garner.

Survivors include his wife, Theresa; a daughter, Michelle (Dennis) Lau, Belmond; two sons, Mark McAloon, Mason City, Martin (Kay) McAloon, Garner; 14 grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his parents; a son, Michael; two brothers, James McAloon and William McAloon; an infant sister.

Memorials may be made to the Harry F. McAloon Memorial Fund.
